 PLEASE NOTE CONTRIBUTION INFORMATION
For municipal organizations and candidates:
The pay to play law prohibits awarding contracts that are not issued subject to a fair and open process to any business entity or individual who has made a contribution in excess of $300 to either the Candidate, Committee of any person or persons who are members of the governing body awarding the contract or the Municipal party committee of either political party that is represented on the governing body. The law does not prohibit awarding contracts issued pursuant to a fair and open process to any business entity or individual that has made contributions. All contributors who have municipal contracts or wish to have municipal contracts within the next 12 months should seek legal advice prior to making any contributions to either the Municipal Party Committee or a Candidate's Committee in the municipality in which they desire to contract.
Regarding County Committee and County office holder solicitations, it should read:
The pay to play law prohibits awarding contracts that are not issued subject to a fair and open process to any business entity or individual who has made a contribution in excess of $300 to either the Candidate Committee of any person or persons who are members of the governing body awarding the contract, or the County Party Committee of either political party that is represented on the governing body. The law does not prohibit awarding contract issued pursuant to a fair and open process to any business entity ( or individual that has made contributions.) Contributions to the County Committee may prohibit the award of State contracts under Executive Order 134. All contributors who presently have or wish to have within the next 12 months State or County contracts! are advised to seek legal advice prior to making any contributions to the County Committee or to candidates for County office.
